A Geologist is responsible for studying the Earth’s structure, materials, and processes, to understand natural resources, environmental changes, and natural hazards. They conduct research, collect data, and analyze geological conditions to inform decision-making in areas such as construction, mining, environmental management, and resource extraction.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree or higher in Geology or a specialized field (such as environmental geology, hydrogeology, or mineralogy) is preferred for advanced roles.

Experience

• Prior experience in geological fieldwork, data collection, and analysis is preferred.
• Experience in a specific geological discipline (e.g., environmental geology, geotechnical analysis, resource exploration) may be beneficial.
• Experience using geological software (e.g., ArcGIS, RockWorks, Leapfrog, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Licensing and Certifications:
• Professional Geologist (PG) license or eligibility to obtain it, depending on the location or jurisdiction.
