As a General Regulations Compliance Officer, you will be accountable for providing the second line of defense for General Regulations compliance area. The role supports the General Regulations Head and team on compliance risk stewardship activities such as regulatory issuance and dissemination and providing advisory service on assigned compliance area.
Conduct of day-to-day advisory on the assigned line of business, subsidiary, or function to ensure policies, products/services,and operating guidelines are aligned with regulatory requirements
Acts as a business enabler and partner with appropriate stakeholders to achieve the Bank's business objectives while promoting a compliance culture in the Bank that balances customer and business requirements with the regulatory expectation
Effective implementation of compliance program by addressing breaches that may arise, reporting these breaches to the General Regulations Department head for escalation to the Corporate Governance Committee and the Board
Providing advice to the lines of business and function on control environment remediation where required
Work with the stakeholders to adopt measures on the resolution and prevention of recurrence of the violation and propose polices that will address findings and identified weaknesses resulting from regulatory review, audit, and compliance testing activities
Liason with Auxiliary Governance Officers (AGO) and business units on regulatory issuance (RI) and dissemination, including conduct of gap analysis, table discussions, and updating of relevant business procedures to align with updated laws, rules, and regulations
Conduct of Quarterly AGO Validation, as an ongoing management of compliance risk, identify any systemic breaches, ensure issues and actions arising from regulatory reviews and compliance assurance are monitored and actioned accordingly
Prepares monthly Compliance reports applicable to assigned area highlighting significant risk areas, escalating issues identifies, and other meaningful updates
Must be a Bachelor's degree holder in Business, Management, Economics, Legal Management, or any related course
With at least 8 years of background in Regulatory and AML Compliance, Corporate Governance, with well-rounded experience in policy setting and advisory
Has general knowledge of banking regulations and financial crime compliance
With experience in managing relationships with different regulators in the Philippines (BSP, IC, SEC, PSE)
Should have a general understanding of risk management frameworks, risk steward practitioner, and with relevant experience in the practical application of risk models in the field of regulatory and financial crime risk management
