I. Job Summary

The General Manager (GM) leads the overall operations, performance, and profitability of the company. This includes strategic planning, business development, project execution, financial oversight, and people leadership.

The GM ensures that company goals are achieved efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with its vision, mission, and values.

This role requires an entrepreneurial leader who thrives in an SME environment—someone with a business-owner mindset who drives performance, fosters innovation, and operates with a long-term outlook toward becoming a strategic partner or part-owner in the company’s success.

II. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the company’s business strategy aligned with organizational goals and market trends.

  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships.

  • Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and performance reviews.

  • Represent the company in industry events, client engagements, and partnership activities.

2. Operational Management
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Implement systems, processes, and best practices that drive performance and compliance.

  • Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Ensure full compliance with all government regulations, permits, and statutory requirements, including DOE, DENR, DOLE, and other relevant agencies.

3. Financial and Business Performance
  • Manage company budget, financial performance, and resource allocation.

  • Analyze financial and operational data to guide strategic decisions.

  • Implement cost-control measures while maintaining quality and productivity.

  • Approve major expenditures, project bids, and procurement activities.

4. People and Organizational Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop department heads to strengthen organizational capability.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate manpower planning, recruitment, and training with HR.

  • Promote employee engagement and uphold company values and ethics.

5. Client and Stakeholder Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

  • Oversee negotiation and approval of major contracts and agreements.

  • Address client concerns and ensure high-quality service delivery.

6. Risk and Compliance Management
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

  • Oversee audits, inspections, and internal performance evaluations.

III. Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Experience: At least 10 years in a senior management role, ideally within SMEs or entrepreneurial organizations in the renewable energy or engineering/construction industry. Proven track record in profitability, growth, and operational excellence.

  • Entrepreneurial Qualities: Experience in building or scaling a business, managing P&L, and leading growth initiatives. Strong entrepreneurial drive with the capacity to become a strategic partner or future part-owner.
