Job summary

NURSING CARE FOR SENIOR INDUSTRY is seeking a dedicated grounds and facilities assistant to maintain gardens and outdoor spaces, perform general maintenance tasks, and ensure safety compliance across the site.

The role requires hands-on experience with gardening equipment, irrigation systems, and outdoor upkeep. Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and coordinating with the team to keep premises well-kept.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or related fields is required.
• Knowledge of plant care, horticulture, irrigation systems, and pest control.
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and other tools.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Gardening & Landscaping:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of garden areas, including planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning plants, shrubs, and trees.
  • Landscape design and improvement, including flower beds, lawns, and seasonal plantings.
  • Regularly inspect and care for green spaces to ensure healthy growth and aesthetics.
  • Weed and mulch garden beds to maintain tidy, well-kept areas.
  • Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution and repair of any issues.
• Outdoor Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance on outdoor facilities, including cleaning walkways, patios, and outdoor furniture.
  • Ensure outdoor lighting, signage, and other outdoor amenities are functional and well-maintained.
• General Facility Maintenance:
  • Assist in general building maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, cleaning, and other maintenance-related duties.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests as needed.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all gardening and landscaping activities are carried out safely and in compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain safety standards when handling gardening tools, fertilizers, and other materials.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of gardening supplies and equipment.
  • Recommend the purchase of supplies and tools as necessary.
