Job summary

Philux Inc. is seeking a skilled CAD designer to produce furniture drawings from sketches and photos, and to create precise 2D/3D models based on provided designs. The role requires delivering complete drawings with detailed measurements, joints, and finishing details.

You will manage cutting lists and shop drawings in AutoCAD, conduct quality checks, and keep drawing files organized. Strong English communication and at least 1 year in furniture manufacturing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Technical Drafting or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with 2D/3D drawings and shop drawings.
• Fluency in English (oral & written) and good communication with factory staff.

Responsibilities

• Produce furniture drawings from pictures or sketches.
• Create 2D and 3D models based on design specs.
• Generate detailed drawings with cutting lists and joints.
• Conduct quality checks and reviews for errors.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Can produce furniture drawings from pictures, sketches
• Create 2D and 3D models based on provided design and specifications
• Generate accurate and detailed drawings including cutting list
• Conduct quality checks and reviews of completed drawings to identify errors or inconsistencies
• Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files, both in digital and physical formats
• Should ensure and research that new hardware/material for new item is available
• Understand the impact of the drawing in production
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, reports and specifications as needed
• Produce complete drawings with all details like wood joints, detailed measurements, spot details, upholstery details, finishing details
• Make a detailed cutting list from the drawing
• Prepare fixtures/furniture shop drawings using AutoCAD
• Fixtures/Furniture specifications writing
• Understand the impact on production if problems are not solved before releasing drawings
• Ensure that all jigs and patterns are made, listed and filed on drive before release of item
• Constantly follows up with R&D carpenters if all procedures are visible, after release to production if item works well on line
• Updates drawings constantly as improvements and revisions are made
• Needs to be a team player

Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Technical Drafting or equivalent
• Required skill(s): Adobe PhotoShop, AutoCAD 2013-2016, Microsoft Office, Fluency in English language both oral & written
• Knowledge of wooden furniture manufacturing and woodworking machines
• Problem Solver, can easily spot problems and propose sound solutions
• To be able to multitask between different projects
• Must be a good communicator with factory staff and management
• With at least 1 year experience in Furniture construction/manufacturing industry
