Job summary

Digital Maelstrom is seeking a software engineer to join a cross-functional team for designing and developing custom web and mobile software for client needs. The role involves analyzing complex problems, presenting architectural recommendations, and breaking down requirements into actionable tasks for the project timeline.

You will document design specs and contribute to Agile practices while continually improving skills within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with mainstay language(s) such as: Java, C#
• Experience with front-end and server-side programming in various languages
• A solid understanding of best practices and techniques in web software
• Self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom web & mobile software for client needs.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems and provide technical solutions.
• Present recommendations about system and software architecture improvements.
• Break down complex requirements into actionable tasks for estimation and completion.
• Develop and document design, functional, and behavioral specifications for systems and software.
• Gather and synthesize information related to technology and processes.
• Configure data sources in software to execute business solutions.
• Write program documentation and user operations guidelines; advise operations engineers.
• Participate in agile team practices; reflect on performance and suggest team improvements.
• Write unit tests and integration tests as part of development practices.
