Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the NSW/ACT Transport Group. The role emphasizes AI, automation, and application development, maintaining and enhancing digital tools and automations for the team and wider service group.

Core work focuses on ageing GUGE/Transport web apps, and new digital solutions aligned with automation goals. Strong React/JS/TypeScript, Python and Azure experience required, with Azure Container Apps deployment and CI/CD responsibilities.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in Full Stack Development.
• Familiar with CI/CD, MS Azure, MS Container Apps, Flask.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python for full stack development.
• Experience with Docker and containerization, including deploying applications to cloud platforms like Azure Container Apps.
• Proficient in Git version control workflows, with practical experience collaborating via GitLab or GitHub in multi‑developer environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, including Azure Table Storage (NoSQL) and Flask‑based backend services.
• Ability to conduct and participate in code reviews, with a collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for improving team coding standards and mentoring others.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Independently build, maintain, and enhance digital tools and automations such as Workflows and design tools.
• Develop new digital solutions aligned with automation and efficiency goals across the service group.
• Apply React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python and Docker to deliver scalable full stack apps and ensure smooth deployment via Azure Container Apps.
• Collaborate through code reviews, promote clean, maintainable code, and mentor team members.
• Utilize Git for version control and support CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of front‑end and back‑end code.
• Work with Azure services (Table Storage) and NoSQL to maintain secure cloud‑hosted applications.

What will you do?

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to join the NSW/ACT Transport Group. This role is critical to maintaining and advancing our digital capabilities, with a strong focus on AI, automation, and application development. The successful candidate will independently develop, maintain, and enhance digital tools and automations that support both our immediate team and the wider service group.

In the short term, the role will focus on the upkeep of existing GUGE/Transport web applications and plugins.

• Independently build, maintain, and enhance digital tools and automations such as Workflows, Sign Design, and NSW Bridge Revit Tools to support the team and wider group.
• Contribute to the development of new digital solutions that align with the Service Group’s automation and efficiency goals, helping implement over 20 active initiatives.
• Apply strong technical skills in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Docker to deliver scalable full stack applications and ensure smooth deployment via Azure Container Apps.
• Collaborate effectively through code reviews, promoting clean, maintainable code, and supporting team growth through constructive feedback.
• Use Git for version control and support CI/CD pipeline operations to ensure reliable, automated testing and deployment of both front‑end and back‑end code.
• Work with Azure services including Table Storage and Container Apps and leverage NoSQL and Flask knowledge to maintain secure and efficient cloud‑hosted applications

• At least 4 years of experience in Full Stack Development
• Familiar with CI/CD, MS Azure, MS Container Apps, Flask
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python for full stack development, with a focus on building and maintaining dynamic web applications and backend services.
• Experience with Docker and containerization, including deploying applications to cloud platforms like Azure Container Apps under enterprise IT architecture.
• Proficient in Git version control workflows, with practical experience collaborating via GitLab or GitHub in multi‑developer environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, including Azure Table Storage (NoSQL) and Flask‑based backend services.
• Ability to conduct and participate in code reviews, with a collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for improving team coding standards and mentoring others.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, produce good documentation, facilitate knowledge sharing and drive adoption of digital solutions across projects and business functions.
