Ascendion is seeking a seasoned Flutter Technical Lead to own the mobile architecture, security posture, and BFF integration for a digital banking app. You will lead hands-on development, reviews, and engineering standards, while mentoring the team and driving secure, scalable releases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mobile app development; 3+ years leading Flutter in a Technical Lead role.
• Deep hands-on Flutter and Dart; strong iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) knowledge.
• Experience with end-to-end app store release processes (Apple App Store, Google Play).
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, mobile CI/CD, automated testing, and accessibility.
• Knowledge of Flutter Platform Channels and native integration.
• Experience in Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture and API design.
• Strong mobile security focus including OWASP MASVS and secure storage.
• Experience integrating multiple third-party SDKs and working with vendors.
• Digital banking/fintech experience and regulatory familiarity is a plus.
• Strong leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.

Ascendion is looking for an experienced and hands-on Flutter Technical Lead to lead the technical architecture, security posture, and development of a digital banking mobile application and its Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layer.

This role combines strong individual-contributor capabilities with technical leadership. The successful candidate will design and develop scalable mobile architecture, write and review production code, establish security and engineering standards, manage third-party SDK integrations, and serve as the technical escalation point for the mobile engineering team.

Job Description:

Architecture, Development & Technical Leadership

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the Flutter mobile application, including application structure, state management, modularization, and BFF integration patterns.

• Develop and maintain production-grade Flutter/Dart applications and contribute hands-on to complex, high-risk, and business-critical features.

• Lead technical design reviews for new enhancements and change requests and provide technical recommendations and final sign-off.

• Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural guardrails, performance benchmarks, and engineering best practices.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, performance, scalability, and security.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to mobile engineers, helping raise the overall technical capability of the team.

• Serve as the escalation point for complex production issues and release‑blocking technical concerns, driving root‑cause analysis and resolution.

Mobile Security

• Own and drive mobile application security practices aligned with OWASP MASVS and industry standards.

• Implement and enforce secure storage, certificate pinning, code obfuscation, application shielding, and other mobile security controls.

• Validate hardened application builds before submission to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• Partner with Information Security, Compliance, and other stakeholders on security reviews, audits, and remediation activities.

Third-Party SDK & Platform Integrations

• Own the technical integration, stability, and lifecycle management of third‑party SDKs and platforms.

• Manage SDK version upgrades, deprecations, compatibility issues, and vendor-related technical escalations.

• Evaluate new SDKs and vendor integrations based on security, performance, scalability, and architectural fit.

• Work with platforms and technologies such as analytics, engagement, cloud, communication, CMS, rewards, and other third‑party services.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with business, product, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Provide technical input for project planning, effort estimation, prioritization, and release sequencing.

• Represent the mobile engineering team in cross‑functional discussions and vendor engagements.

• Communicate technical decisions, risks, and trade‑offs effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in mobile application development, with at least 3+ years of experience leading Flutter‑based development in a Technical Lead capacity.

• Deep hands‑on expertise in Flutter and Dart and strong working knowledge of native mobile development for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin).

• Experience with mobile platform SDKs and the end‑to‑end application release process for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, mobile CI/CD, automated testing, unit testing, widget testing, integration testing, accessibility, and mobile platform design guidelines.

• Solid understanding of Flutter Platform Channels and integrating Flutter applications with native iOS and Android functionality.

• Experience designing and working with Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) architecture and API integration/design.

• Strong hands‑on experience in mobile application security, including secure storage, certificate pinning, code obfuscation, application shielding, and OWASP MASVS.

• Experience managing and integrating multiple third‑party SDKs and working directly with external vendors.

• Experience in digital banking, fintech, or other regulated industries is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with BSP requirements and regulated financial environments is a strong advantage.
