Job summary

Globe Telecom, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to join the GCash FinTech team in the Philippines. You will deliver modules, code, test and troubleshoot, and collaborate across infra, DB, and release teams to ensure smooth production deployments.

The candidate will work with Java, MySQL, Apache, NGINX, JavaScript, and cloud technologies, with exposure to DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Join a dynamic, fast-growing environment in the country.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software development.
• Ability to read/write source code across multiple languages.
• Experience in cloud and on-premise server environments.
• Developed APIs with Google, Facebook and web services (REST/SOAP).
• Proficient with Java, MySQL, Apache, NGiNX, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3; Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned modules and tasks.
• Code, test and troubleshoot software using appropriate hardware, DB and tech.
• Assist QA to diagnose issues and review/repair legacy code.
• Review code changes to minimize impact on performance.
• Collaborate with infra, build/release, DB and other teams for production deployments.
• Build reusable components, templates, code and libraries.
• Optimize apps for speed and scalability.
