Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, or MBA qualification is an advantage but not required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant FP&A experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support planning, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual analytical management reports with KPIs and variance analysis.
  • Explain actual results vs. budgets with actionable recommendations for management.
  • Evaluate financial impact of proposed projects and initiatives using approved assumptions.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting workstreams including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Consolidate assumptions and prepare budget analyses for senior management review.
  • Monitor industry benchmarks and market trends for potential financial impact.
  • Prepare financial analyses and materials for management, Board, and investors.
  • Analyze revenue, cost, margins, and profitability to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business units to support strategic decisions.

Job description

The Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) Officer will support strategic and commercial decision-making by providing financial insights, performance analysis, financial models, and forward-looking projections.

The role focuses on business planning, scenario analysis, management reporting, and financial advisory support. It requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to translate financial information into practical recommendations for management.

The FP&A Officer will report to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting business planning, scenario analysis, investment evaluation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual analytical management reports using finalized financial information, highlighting key performance indicators, material variances, trends, risks, and business-performance drivers.
  • Analyze actual financial results against approved budgets and forecasts and provide clear explanations and actionable recommendations to management.
  • Evaluate the projected financial impact of proposed projects, products, investments, and operational decisions using approved assumptions and methodologies.
  • Lead the financial modeling and analytical workstreams for the annual budgeting and forecasting exercises, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Consolidate management-approved financial assumptions and prepare budget and forecast analyses for review and approval by the Finance Manager and senior management.
  • Monitor relevant industry benchmarks, economic indicators, and market trends and assess their potential financial impact on the Company.
  • Prepare financial analyses and draft materials for management, Board, shareholder, and investor presentations.
  • Analyze revenue, cost, margin, and profitability trends and identify potential opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with business units to evaluate financial performance and provide analytical support for strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of financial models, assumptions, methodologies, data sources, and revisions.
  • Undertake special projects specifically relating to financial strategy, business performance, capital planning, scenario analysis, and financial risk assessment.

Authority and Accountability

  • The FP&A Officer shall have no final authority to approve budgets, forecasts, investments, payments, procurements, contracts, accounting entries, tax filings, or regulatory submissions.
  • Final ownership and approval of the Company’s budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and financial decisions shall remain with the Finance Manager and the appropriate management approvers.
  • All material reports, models, forecasts, presentations, and recommendations prepared by the FP&A Officer shall be subject to appropriate management review.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA qualification is an advantage but not required.

Experience

Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, commercial finance, management reporting, or a comparable analytical role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, scenario analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is an advantage.
  • Experience with business-intelligence or data-visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, key performance indicators, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Analytical and Business Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain financial models.
  • Ability to evaluate business performance and translate financial information into actionable management insights.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Ability to identify financial risks, performance issues, and potential efficiency opportunities.
