Job summary

QBE Group Shared Services Centre is seeking a senior finance professional to oversee a Finance Division, ensuring compliance with guidelines and timely financial reporting. The role leads accounting operations, engages with external stakeholders, and contributes to Group finance objectives across regions.

The ideal candidate has CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications, extensive general insurance accounting experience, and proven consolidation expertise.

Qualifications

• Significant relevant experience.
• CA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualifications.
• Experience in general insurance/reinsurance preferred.
• Experience in consolidation of financial statements.
• Experience with financial reporting environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a specific Finance Division ensuring optimal performance and compliance with Divisional Finance guidelines.
• Lead the management of finance operations to meet changing needs and ensure timely submission of financial information for consolidation.
• Analyse financial data, identify trends and prepare reports for senior management.
• Assess, document, and improve Divisional finance processes and systems continually.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support regulatory change-related programmes.
• Provide strategic plans for assigned regions and input to the VP of Finance Services.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and ensure timely, accurate information delivery.
• Oversee activities to ensure high-quality, consistent, and timely service delivery.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support compliance with accounting requirements.

• Extensive post qualification technical accounting experience in general insurance.
• Proven experience in preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Experience of dealing with people at all levels of the organization.
• Extensive experience in finance team or accounting practice.
• Experience in general insurance/reinsurance.
• Experience in strategic analysis and development of reporting processes.
• Practical experience in management and financial reporting environments.
• Supervisory or management experience within Finance.
• Contribution to the management of a complex financial services business.
• Building, leading and retaining talent in a finance operations environment.

Qualifications:
