Finance Operations Accountant
The Finance Operations Accountant is responsible for managing cash collections, verifying transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Additionally, the role supports budgeting, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cash management operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives remitted cash and cash collection receipt from the cash dispatcher. In the absence of the cash dispatcher, receives that remitted cash from the field collector
- Accurately sort, count and verify large sums of money received through various channels such as cash, checks, and electronic transfers.
- Encode and maintain precise records (like daily trigger logs, bank CIV, and eTap and ecPay monitoring dashboard) of cash management, including incoming and outgoing funds (e.g. to pay the billers, petty cash and etc.), ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures and standards
- Verify daily kiosks record from the eTap and ecPay monitoring dashboard vs actual cash collected to ensure that the physical cash on hand matches the recorded amounts in eTap and ecPay monitoring dashboard
- Report discrepancy to immediate superior to ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures and standards
- Assist the superior in providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Provide cash management support to augment the manpower requirement of other offices when needed.
- May be assigned to handle special projects such as e-Puhunan, and etc. that would require completion of end to end process within the limited period of time
- Safely handle and secure cash, ensuring proper storage and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Encode, update, and maintain the expense ledger, ensuring all financial transactions for the day are recorded accurately following the standard KPI's.
- Reconcile cash management transactions with bank deposit slips, accounts payable (daily expenses) with financial transactions of the day following the accounting policies and procedures and standards.
- Submit the required data and information to the Regional Finance Officer in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manually consolidates cash management data and information to create a daily report to be submitted to the Regional Finance Supervisor.
- Assist the Regional Finance Supervisor in the preparation of regional budgets, budget performance, budget forecast and financial forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, identifying any variances and suggesting corrective actions.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and providing answers to audit queries.
- Assist in the preparation of file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain organized and secure financial records in designated secured cabinets, that includes invoices, receipts, and other supporting documents.
- Ensure that all records are easily accessible for audits and internal reviews.
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities to improve cash management systems and processes.
- Compliance with eTap’s safety, security, and information security protocols.
- Perform other job-related functions or duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Financial Management.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
Professional Experience
- At least 2 (two) years of working experience.
