Job summary

You will prepare journals, analyze statements, assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of GAAP are essential, with 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

About the role

Ascendion is seeking a Finance Analyst to join our financial team in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial accounting and reporting functions. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's financial health through accurate analysis, reporting, and financial data management. What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and journals in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
2. Analysing financial statements and accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
3. Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
4. Reconciling accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness
5. Assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and accrual adjustments
6. Conducting variance analysis and providing explanations for significant deviations from budgeted amounts
7. Supporting audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues
9. Maintaining compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
10. Processing and coding invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
2. 0-3 years of experience in financial accounting, general accounting, or a similar financial role
3. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work with financial data and create spreadsheets efficiently
4. Solid understanding of accounting principles, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and financial reporting standards
5. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in financial records
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to interpret complex financial information
7. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
8. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
9. Willingness to learn and develop expertise in financial accounting and reporting processes
10. Preferred: Experience with ERP systems or exposure to financial close procedures
