The Farm Manager for Swine Operations will oversee all aspects of pig farming, including breeding, feeding, health management, and facility maintenance. This role requires a highly organized and knowledgeable individual to ensure that the farm operates efficiently, profitably, and in compliance with health and safety standards.

Operational Management
  • Oversee daily operations related to the care, feeding, and breeding of pigs, ensuring optimal health and growth.
  • Develop and implement feeding programs tailored to each growth stage (piglets, sows, boars).
  • Schedule and monitor all breeding, farrowing, and weaning processes.
Animal Health and Welfare
  • Maintain high standards of animal health by overseeing vaccination, deworming, and other health protocols.
  • Monitor pig health and behavior daily, working with veterinarians to address any health issues.
  • Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation standards in housing, feeding, and handling areas.
Facility and Equipment Management
  • Supervise the maintenance of all farming equipment, pens, ventilation systems, and waste management processes.
  • Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained, following biosecurity measures to prevent disease.
Staff Supervision and Training
  • Lead, supervise, and train farm staff in best practices for pig care, farm safety, and biosecurity.
  • Assign duties, manage schedules, and oversee team performance to ensure productivity and quality standards.
Financial and Inventory Management
  • Develop and manage farm budgets, keeping accurate records of expenses, feed, medication, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of feed, medicines, and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and cost-effective purchasing.
