POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced Audit Associate to join our auditing team on a 6-month independent contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting audits with precision, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and delivering high-quality financial insights. The role requires effective communication with both the engagement team and clients to ensure a smooth audit process. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of audit methodologies, industry standards, and systems. Productively adheres to the work plan schedule and completes sections with an acceptable number of work paper comments. This role reports to the Audit Manager and whoever else is deemed appropriate from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Management:
  • Support the audit team and Audit Manager in ensuring that all audit tasks are delivered with efficiency and quality.
  • Performance will be measured based on feedback from the Audit Manager and senior audit team members.
Experienced Audit Associate:
  • Understand and consistently act on clients' needs and expectations; demonstrate knowledge of their business, industry, systems, and company values.
  • Provide timely, high-quality client service that exceeds expectations.
  • Execute and deliver on various external audit client engagements effectively and methodically.
  • Build successful client relationships, demonstrating a positive attitude toward challenges and the agility to multitask effectively.
  • Research complex audit technical issues and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Address client concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Ensure an efficient flow of information between the client and the audit team.
  • Performance will be evaluated based on feedback from the Audit Manager, quality of work, and performance evaluations.
Budget/Financial Management Support:
  • Assist the Finance Manager in budget preparation.
  • Support the senior-in-charge in tracking the budget and actual hours spent on audits to aid in future budget planning.
  • Performance will be measured through feedback from the Finance Manager, the senior-in-charge, and the Audit Manager.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Meet team expectations regarding assigned tasks and deadlines.
  • Actively collaborate with the team to improve results.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude within a new and growing team.
  • Performance will be gauged based on team collaboration effectiveness and team feedback.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
  • A CPA license is required
  • Should have a continuous 2-3 years of experience in audit or a related field
  • Experience in CaseWare is preferred, but not required
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in auditing or accounting are a plus
  • Experience with Australian methodologies is beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Comprehensive review of Annual Financial Statements prepared in accordance with IFRS
  • Ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Ability to draft engagement letters and reports to management
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and auditing tasks
  • Experience in the audit of basic and complex audit sections
  • Experience in planning, executing, and completing audit procedures
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Exceptional client relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
