Job summary

Boomering inc is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to work remotely from the Philippines on Australian residential projects. You will own estimating and BOQs for custom homes, townhouses and complex builds, coordinating with the Australian team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

The role requires 3–4 years of residential construction estimating experience, proficiency with DataBuild/iGyro/Core Estimator, and a strong grasp of Australian construction methods.

Job description

Position Title: Estimator
Work Set-up: Work From Home
Schedule: 4AM-1PM
Salary: 45,000-60,000

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with approximately 3–4 years of residential construction estimating experience to join an established Australian residential builder. Working across custom homes, townhouses and complex residential builds, you will take ownership of estimating and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). This role is suited to someone who values accuracy, enjoys variety and wants to contribute to a close-knit team.

As an Estimator

You are a practical and analytical construction professional who can interpret plans and specifications, prepare accurate quantity take-offs and manage estimating priorities. You communicate clearly, take accountability for your work and collaborate with the Australian team to clarify project requirements and support efficient project delivery.

Your Responsibilities as an Estimator would be

Estimating & Bills of Quantities

• Prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities for custom residential construction projects.
• Review architectural plans, drawings, specifications, client selections and project documentation to determine the complete scope of works.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs for materials and construction requirements using the company’s estimating systems and processes.
• Work from project interview sheets, checklists and established estimating workflows to capture the inclusions and requirements of each build accurately.
• Account for the individual requirements of custom homes, townhouses, fit-outs and other non-standard residential projects.
• Apply sound construction knowledge when estimating steep, sloping and otherwise complex building sites.

Systems, Workflow & Documentation

• Maintain accurate project and estimating information within iGyro and use Core Estimator or comparable software for plan measurement and take-off activities.
• Manage the estimating workflow from initial project information through to a completed BOQ, understanding how approved quantities flow into purchasing and project delivery.
• Maintain organised, accurate and timely estimating documentation.
• Follow established estimating checklists and processes while contributing to their ongoing refinement and improvement.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate closely with the Australian team to clarify project details, resolve estimating queries and maintain accuracy.
• Assist with procurement, construction administration and other estimating-related activities as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, better workflows and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Approximately 3–4 years’ experience in residential construction estimating, ideally working with or supporting Australian builders.
• Strong understanding of Australian residential construction methods, materials and estimating principles.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret architectural plans, drawings, specifications and project documentation accurately.
• Experience preparing detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities for residential construction projects.
• Strong practical building knowledge and understanding of the residential construction process from start to finish.
• Experience estimating custom homes, complex residential projects and steep or sloping sites is highly desirable.
• Experience using DataBuild, iGyro or comparable Australian construction estimating software is advantageous.
• Experience with Core Estimator or similar digital take-off and measurement software is advantageous.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage estimating priorities and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to seek clarification when project information is incomplete or unclear.
• A reliable, accountable and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a remote Australian team.

• Accurate and complete Bills of Quantities and quantity take-offs.
• Timely completion of estimating tasks in line with agreed deadlines and priorities.
