Job summary

V2X Inc in the Philippines is seeking an Environmental, Safety, and Health Specialist to ensure compliance with the ESH Plan and local regulations, including DENR and DOLE OSH, writing and reviewing technical reports, and coordinating with middle management.

Responsibilities include contract-wide ESH evaluation, policy enforcement on fire protection and hazardous materials, staying current with ESH standards, and clear communication with peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health, or related discipline.
• Two-year or four-year ESH education/experience mix acceptable.
• Must possess 40-hour Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training Certificate (valid 2 years) and 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Safety Officer II Certificate.

• Perform contract-wide Environmental, Safety, and Health evaluation and compliance.
• Enforce policies on fire protection, public health, emergency responses, hazardous materials handling, and ESH processes.
• Stay current with ESH program policies and Denver (DENR) and DOLE OSH regulations.
• Communicate professionally with peers and teams; prepare technical reports as required.
• Assist ESH team and monitor program practices in coordination with the supervisor.

Responsible for ensuring compliance of the Environmental, Safety, and Health Plan; applicable Federal, State, and Local requirements [to include DENR and DOLE OSH]; establishing ESH evaluation, compliance, and behavioral monitoring. Will write and review technical reports and will interact with middle management.

Responsibilities

• Performs a contract-wide Environmental, Safety, and Health evaluation, compliance, and behavioral monitoring that conforms to applicable legal and other requirements.
• Enforces policies on fire protection, public health, emergency responses, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) handling, environmental safety and health processes, and other field activities.
• Remains current in Environmental, Safety, and Health Program policies, and current industrial standards, as well as local DENR and DOLE OSH regulations.
• Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their peers as needed to relay information necessary for job success. This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, projects, Quality Standard Procedures, and ESH best practices.
• Performs basic ESH duties and assist ESH Team members in further development of their skills; along with other duties as required.
• Maintains close contact with the ESH Supervisor and other team members to monitor program environmental, safety, and health practices.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education/Certifications: Two-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, Safety, Health, or related discipline. Or combination of advanced education and four-year ESH experience.
  • Must possess a valid 40-hour Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training Certificate with a two-year validity, as well as a 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Safety Officer II Certificate.
• Experience:
  • Minimum Four years experience as environmental, safety and health specialist, with firsthand knowledge of operations in a behavior-based compliance program and hazardous material management, to include Environmental compliance; knowledgeable in DOD, Army, EPA, and Federal regulations. Military background is beneficial.
• Skills:
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, Ability to instruct small and medium groups of people, Competent in computer operations to include Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have a strong ability to work independently as a member of a robust team. Able to manage others to complete assigned task.
  • MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
    • Laptop and desktop computer systems, projector, and audio equipment, ESH evaluation measurement tools, and system testing equipment.
• WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Job assignments will involve work in and out-of-doors with exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures.
• PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.; Work will require stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting; Work in areas where a potential exist for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents; Personal Protective Equipment is required when applicable, such equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
