Job summary

Globalport Terminals Inc. seeks an experienced Equipment Operator to control heavy equipment in our terminal operations. You will inspect, operate, and report on forklift, reach stacker, wheel loader, yard tractor and related machinery.

The role requires a valid Professional Driver’s License, familiarity with safety guidelines, and the ability to follow directions and cooperate with the Engineering and Operations teams. This is an on-site position based in the Davao region.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Vocational or High School.
• Work experience related to the field.
• With Professional Driver’s License (1,2,3,8 Restrictions) and Driving (Articulated Vehicle).
• Certification NC III (preferred only).
• A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
• Capacity to provide and follow direction.

• Inspects equipment prior to usage by following the basics SOPs (battery, lights, oil, water and gas).
• Checks safety working limits and condition of the heavy equipment during operations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and other minor repairs or submits the same to the Engineering Department as soon as defects are detected.
• Stacks cargoes according to location plan.
• Observes safety precautions when operating the unit.
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned by superiors.

Job description

Equipment operators are responsible for controlling the heavy equipment used in terminal operations. They are licensed individuals who report to a supervisor or foreman. Equipment operators are skilled in the use of equipment such as reach stackers, heavy forklifts, light forklifts, wheel loaders, yard tractors, and the like.
