Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced manager to join the Core Platform team. You will architect, design, and lead a broad range of projects enabling Verkada's operating system for buildings, with a focus on scalable web platforms and delightful user experiences.

You will mentor engineers, contribute code, and collaborate with Product and Design to ship features that protect people and assets globally. This role blends leadership with hands-on development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers; including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
• 8+ years of work experience in a software engineering roles
• Experience with both backend and frontend
• Experience working in an agile team software development environment
• Eye for design, product details, and polish
• Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and one database system

Overview

We are looking for an experienced manager to join the Verkada Core Platform team. We are building the platform and shared services that will enable Verkada to quickly bring to market a suite of IoT devices and to power Verkada’s "operating system for buildings." As a member of the Core team, you will be the architect, designer, and developer in a broad range of projects.

• Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments, evaluating their potential impact on our web platforms and recommending innovative solutions.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the web engineering team, encouraging knowledge sharing, skill-building, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers; including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.

• Experience working in an agile team software development environment

• Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).

$200,000-285,000 USD
