Job summary

Bally’s in Manila is seeking an Engineering Lead to head the Native team, delivering iOS and Android apps with quality and pace. You will be a hands-on player-coach who owns delivery, grows engineers, and builds a generative, AI-first team.

The role requires 6+ years in software engineering, including native mobile, plus experience coaching and mentoring developers. This is an on-site position in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 6+ years in software engineering, including native mobile.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and pairing with developers.
• Mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularisation).
• Experience with REST APIs, offline data handling, and test automation.
• Strong knowledge of mobile CI/CD and app security practices.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leadership: code, reviews, and pairing daily.
• Set technical standards for iOS and Android and own team quality.
• Own delivery from refinement to App Store/Play release.
• Track DORA metrics and cycle time; ship in small, frequent increments.
• Partner with Product Owner to co-own outcomes and manage trade-offs.
• Coach engineers; run retrospectives with clear owners and dates.
• Drive AI-first engineering and share effective AI tools.

What You’ll Do

Hands‑On Technical Leadership

• Contribute code, reviews, and pairing every day
• Set the technical standard for iOS and Android
• Own the technical quality of the team’s decisions

Delivery

• Own delivery from refinement to App Store and Google Play release
• Track and act on DORA metrics and cycle time
• Ship in small, frequent increments

Partnership with Product

• Co‑own outcomes with the Product Owner
• Push back when work doesn’t connect to player value
• Make trade‑offs explicit when a date is at risk

People & Generative Culture

• Coach and develop the engineers in the team
• Have difficult conversations early
• Run retrospectives where every action has an owner and a date
• Make it safe to raise problems and disagree
• Confident with presenting both within and outside of the team

What You Bring

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 6+ years in software engineering, including native mobile
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and pairing with developers
• Mobile architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularisation)
• Consuming REST APIs and handling offline data
• Unit and UI test automation for mobile apps
• Mobile CI/CD (e.g. Fastlane, GitLab CI)
• Crash reporting and performance monitoring (e.g. Firebase Crashlytics)
• Mobile app security and secure data storage
• Git and code review practices
• Swift and SwiftUI, with working knowledge of UIKit
• Xcode, Instruments, and Swift Package Manager
• Swift concurrency (async/await) and Combine
