Job summary

ABSI in the Philippines seeks an Elevator and Escalator Technician to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of lifts and moving walkways in Metro Manila. The role covers preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, safety checks, and on-call support to ensure reliable operation.

Applicants should have 1–3 years of elevator/escalator experience, HS diploma or technical cert, and strong problem-solving skills; certification is preferred. Training and safety compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of elevator/escalator maintenance experience.
• Technical certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, moving walks, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic faults.
• Repair or replace defective components such as motors, controllers, brakes, doors, cables, bearings, sensors, and switches.
• Conduct safety inspections and functional testing after repairs or installations.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls, equipment breakdowns, and passenger entrapments.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and blueprints.
• Adjust and calibrate control systems for optimal performance.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service reports, maintenance logs, inspection checklists, and work orders accurately.
• Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisors and clients.
• Maintain tools, testing instruments, and company vehicles in good working condition.
• Follow all occupational health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and proper use of PPE.
• Assist with modernization and upgrade projects for existing elevator and escalator systems.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency service rotations as required.
