Job summary

Job Summary

The EHS Coordinator at Sandvik Tamrock (Philippines) is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This role ensures compliance with all relevant local and international EHS regulations and Sandvik's internal standards, fostering a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with Sandvik global standards and Philippine EHS regulations (e.g., DOLE, DENR).
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and non‑compliance issues.
  • Investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on topics such as hazard identification, emergency procedures, safe work practices, and chemical handling.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, including incident reports, training logs, inspection findings, and environmental monitoring data.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of EHS reports to regulatory bodies as required.
  • Participate in EHS committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Support the implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and projects.
  • Ensure proper management of hazardous waste and other environmental aspects in accordance with regulations.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry environment.
  • Knowledge of Philippine EHS regulations (e.g., DOLE OSH Standards, DENR environmental regulations).
  • Strong understanding of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to conduct EHS audits and investigations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Certification as an accredited Safety Officer (SO2 or SO3) by DOLE is highly desirable.
