Job summary

Science and Vision for Technology, Inc. (SVTI) invites applications for an Economist to join our Metro Manila team on-site in a full-time capacity.

You will conduct economic and statistical research, analyze macroeconomic trends, prepare forecasts, and evaluate the economic implications of infrastructure initiatives. You will develop evidence-based recommendations, create client reports and presentations, contribute to proposals, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure decisions

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Economics and Macroeconomics with ability to apply economic theory to real-world projects.
• Proficiency in Economic Research and Statistics, including data collection, modeling, and quantitative analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex information, identifying trends, and generating practical recommendations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Experience with statistical software (R, Stata, EViews, Python) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication to prepare reports and present findings to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple assignments in fast-paced environments.
• Prior consulting, infrastructure, or development project experience in the Philippines or Southeast Asia is an advantage.

Role Description The Economist will work on-site in Metro Manila in a full-time capacity, supporting SVTI’s consultancy projects with rigorous economic analysis and insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting economic and statistical research, analyzing macroeconomic trends, preparing forecasts, and evaluating the economic implications of structural and infrastructure initiatives. The role involves developing evidence-based recommendations, creating reports and presentations for clients and project partners, and contributing to proposals and project documentation. The Economist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with external stakeholders when needed, and help ensure that project decisions are grounded in sound economic reasoning and relevant data.
