Job Summary

A Dispatcher coordinates and monitors the movement of vehicles and drivers to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective transportation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, Dispatch, and route drivers and vehicles efficiently
• Monitor vehicle locations using GPS/Dispatch software
• Instruct drivers regarding routes, delays, emergencies, and delivery instructions
• Adjust schedules in real time due to traffic, weather, or operational changes/Issues
• Track driver hours, compliance, and availability
• Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, fuel usage, and maintenance needs
• Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations
• Respond promptly to emergencies, breakdowns, accidents, or route changes
• Notify Supervisors/Managers of delivery status, delays, or operational issues
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and delivery documentation
• Ensure, on-time deliveries and minimize operational disruption
• May require availability outside standard business hours, including nights and weekends
• Ensure vehicle checklists are completed and report any issues/concerns to maintenance team/Workshop supervisor
