Job summary

Globe is seeking a ND Data Platform Engineer to oversee the lifecycle of the data platform and design/manage data pipelines. You will participate in architecture decisions, build scalable pipelines, and help shape platform infra roadmap.

The role requires 3+ years in data and platform engineering, proficiency in Python/Java, and experience with Hadoop, Flink, and ETL schedulers like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect. Familiarity with telco tech and vendor relationships is a plus.

Job Description

The ND Data Platform Engineer is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of the data platform. This role also requires designing and managing data pipelines.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Data Engineering Focus: Design, build and manage our data pipelines, ensuring all data is seamlessly integrated into our data warehouse. Participate in architecture and engineering decisions, bringing your strong experience and knowledge.
• Platform / Infrastructure Roadmap – Provide recommendation that outlines the evolution and development of the platforms and infrastructure.
• Change & Release Management – process of planning, approving, implementing, and monitoring changes and releases to the platform and infrastructure with minimal impact.
• Capacity Dimensioning – planning, analyzing, and optimizing the resources required for infrastructure and platforms to meet current and future demand efficiently.

Requirements

• 3+ yrs experience in data engineering, 3+ yrs experience in platform engineering
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used within Data Engineering, such as Python, Java
• Experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks, such as Hadoop, Flink and distributed storage systems
• Expertise with any of ETL schedulers such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or similar frameworks
• Familiarity with automation, AI, and machine learning applications in a telco environment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of telco-specific technologies
• Experience in managing internal stakeholders and vendor relationships
