Job summary

Sound Connection Phils. Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to convert 3D models into precise 2D drawings of parts, weldments, sheet metal and assemblies.

You will add dimensions, tolerances, materials and notes as directed by the design engineer, and maintain accurate BOMs with vendor part numbers. You will revise drawings, process Engineering Change Requests, and keep all files and revisions organized in Autodesk Vault.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years mechanical drafting experience.
• 2+ years using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Able to read engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Associate degree in drafting/CAD or mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Clear written and spoken English; strong attention to detail; can manage several projects simultaneously.
• Nice to have: Autodesk Vault, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), sheet metal/weldment drawings, industrial machinery experience, or experience writing technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings of parts, weldments, sheet metal and assemblies from 3D models.
• Add dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes and assembly notes.
• Build and maintain BOMs with vendor part numbers.
• Revise drawings and process Engineering Change Requests; maintain file revisions (Autodesk Vault).
• Prepare layouts (concept, panel, floor, shipping) and compile PDF print books for each project.
• Review drawings with engineers before release and flag issues.
• Answer drawing questions from manufacturing, sales and customer service.
