Job Description
- Production of engineering drawings for use by other entities, subcontractors, and/or clients.
- Assist in continuous development and improvement of bioenergy technical solutions and related processes and systems.
- Assist the company wherever possible to ensure the overall health and safety and welfare of all personnel, contractors, and visitors within the entity.
- Ensure all work practices are carried out safely and comply with all applicable legislation and occupational health & safety and environmental policies and procedures to achieve zero tolerance of unsafe practices.
- Actively promote and adhere to all OH&E policies/procedures.
Role Accountabilities
- Undertake assigned electrical design drafting activities in accordance with client procedures and Australian standards associated with biogas, thermal and/or process plants, including:
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Panel layouts and material lists
- Termination diagrams
- Process and instrumentation diagrams
- General arrangement and layout drawings of electrical systems
- Site and plant layouts with electrical focus
- Documentation for installation, commissioning, and operation
Document Preparation & Maintenance
- Installation and commissioning procedures for electrical systems
- Operation and Maintenance Manuals (electrical sections)
- QA documentation for electrical components
Project Collaboration
- Participate in project design preparation with the Engineering Manager and/or Project Manager, including determination of drafting deliverables and resource requirements.
- Identify need for additional resources, monitor drafting task productivity against schedule, identify training needs, and identify shortcomings in drafting infrastructure and/or procedures impacting productivity.
- Take responsibility for continual improvement of drawing standards (accuracy, structure, fitness for purpose).
- Be a proactive member of the bioenergy projects team, interface with project engineering resources to ensure required information is received effectively, and review electrical engineering drawings.
- Assist in continuous improvement of design procedures and standards, and take on additional drafting responsibilities as needed.
- Assist in promoting and increasing the company’s business activities (Business Development, project delivery, etc.).
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (mandatory)
Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience
Industry Focus: Biogas, thermal, or water treatment plants (NOT solar)
Must be able to design biogas plants, prepare related manufacturing plans, draft electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical, and have familiarity with Australian design standards (basic knowledge required).
