Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists during dental procedures, ensures the smooth operation of the dental office, and provides quality patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection-control protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are sterilized and ready.

• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.

• Hand instruments, mix materials, and take impressions when required.

• Capture and process dental X-rays (digital or film), following safety and regulatory guidelines.

• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories.

Patient Care

• Welcome patients, explain procedures, and help ensure comfort throughout appointments.

• Provide postoperative instructions and oral hygiene guidance.

• Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments and answering basic treatment questions.

Office & Administrative Tasks

• Manage patient scheduling, check-ins, and check-outs.

• Handle billing, insurance claims, and payment processing (depending on office needs).

• Maintain dental supply inventory and place orders as needed.

Skills & Qualifications
