Key Responsibilities of a Delivery Helper:

• Loading and Unloading:Helping to load and unload packages and merchandise from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care.
• Route Navigation:Assisting the driver with navigation, using GPS or other tools to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
• Customer Service:Interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Record Keeping:Keeping accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, receipts, and any delivery-related issues.
• Vehicle Maintenance:Helping to maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle, including ensuring the vehicle's interior and exterior are tidy.
• Safety:Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring both personal and product safety during loading, unloading, and delivery.
• Reporting Issues:Reporting any delivery-related problems or discrepancies to the driver or dispatcher.
• Inventory Assistance:Helping to track inventory and report any discrepancies or issues with the products being delivered.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Age: Usually must be at least 18 years old
• Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (often up to 50–75 lbs)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb in/out of delivery trucks for extended periods
• Stamina for long shifts, sometimes in varying weather conditions

Job Skills and Experience:

• Experience in loading/unloading trucks (preferred but not always required)
• Basic knowledge of safe lifting techniques
• Good coordination and teamwork skills
• Punctual and reliable attendance

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

• Ability to follow directions from drivers or supervisors
• Courteous and professional when interacting with customers
• Basic English (or local language) for reading instructions and safety notices

Availability:

• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Willingness to work overtime when required
