Job summary

AALIYAH DELICATESSEN AND COLD STORAGE INC. is seeking a customer-focused store associate to assist customers, prepare deli items, and ensure accurate orders in our Makati location. You will maintain cleanliness, handle payments, and support inventory and store operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly, polite, and professional manner.
• Assist customers with their orders, product selections, and inquiries.
• Provide accurate information about deli products, ingredients, prices, promotions, and available options.
• Take customer orders accurately and ensure special requests are properly followed.
• Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and refer complicated issues to the supervisor or manager when necessary.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere inside the store.
• Ensure customers receive their orders promptly and correctly.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, hot food, snacks, and other deli products according to company recipes and standards.
• Slice, portion, package, label, and display deli products properly.
• Follow proper food preparation procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Check the freshness, appearance, temperature, and quality of food products before serving or displaying them.
• Properly store food items and ingredients according to required temperature and storage guidelines.
• Rotate products using the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
• Monitor expiration dates and immediately report or remove expired, damaged, or spoiled products.
• Replenish food displays, refrigerators, shelves, and other service areas as needed.
• Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
• Wash and sanitize hands regularly and wear the required uniform and protective equipment.
• Maintain proper personal hygiene and grooming standards.
• Prevent cross-contamination by using appropriate utensils, gloves, cutting boards, and food containers.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate food temperatures.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, counters, utensils, and display cases regularly.
• Properly dispose of food waste and garbage.
• Report any food safety concerns, equipment problems, spills, pests, or sanitation issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Operate the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
• Process cash, credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and other approved payment methods.
• Provide customers with accurate receipts and change.
• Verify prices, discounts, promotions, and applicable customer requests.
• Maintain proper control and security of cash and payment transactions.
• Follow company procedures for cash counting, cash turnover, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Report discrepancies or transaction issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Keep the deli counter, dining/service area, shelves, refrigerators, floors, and workstations clean and organized.
• Perform opening, during-shift, and closing cleaning duties as assigned.
• Clean and sanitize equipment according to company procedures.
• Ensure food displays are neat, attractive, properly stocked, and properly labeled.
• Keep supplies, packaging materials, utensils, and ingredients organized and properly stored.
• Assist with waste segregation and proper disposal.
• Maintain a safe and orderly working environment at all times.
• Assist in receiving and checking deliveries.
• Verify delivered products against invoices or delivery documents when assigned.
• Check product quantity, quality, condition, and expiration dates.
• Properly store incoming products in designated areas.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when supplies or products are running low.
• Assist with regular inventory counts.
• Minimize product waste through proper handling, storage, and portion control.
• Assist with opening and closing the store according to company procedures.
• Prepare the store, equipment, ingredients, packaging materials, and displays before business hours.
• Follow daily work assignments and operational procedures.
• Assist other crew members during busy periods.
• Support promotional activities, product launches, and special store events when required.
