Job summary

Axos Financial is seeking a Data Engineer in Manila to design, build, and operate Databricks pipelines (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) that ingest data from enterprise systems and APIs. You will implement data quality rules, optimize SQL and Python code, and ensure scalable, well-modeled data for analysts and data scientists.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience in production.
• Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional.
• Strong SQL with window functions and performance tuning.
• Python for data engineering (PySpark/pandas) and API/file processing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate batch and incremental data pipelines on Databricks.
• Ingest data from enterprise systems, SaaS platforms, files, and APIs; apply data quality checks.
• Write SQL and Python; optimize performance and cost.
• Implement monitoring, runbooks, and recovery procedures for production pipelines.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and governance leads to translate requirements into designs.
• Document builds and mentor teammates.
