Qualifikationen

• 5+ years in SQL, data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
• 5+ years maintaining data warehouses and big data transformations (EMR, Hadoop, Hive).
• Experience mentoring and managing data engineers.
• Experience with hardware provisioning, capacity forecasting, and budgeting.
• Proven written communication and ability to engage with business and technical audiences.
• Track record of leading and hiring engineering talent.
• Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Scala, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Manage existing data resources and introduce technologies and tooling that advance data warehousing, science, analytics, and scalable data sharing.
• Own data environments (e.g., data warehouse and data-sharing platforms), with the capacity to contribute hands-on development when needed.
• Oversee the design of data usage processes that support teams across the organization.
• Gather and clarify requirements through direct engagement with business, science, and software development stakeholders.
• Define and uphold Data Warehousing Engineering Standards & Practices covering versioning, readability, functionality, extensibility, data quality, test results, deployment, post-deployment, and hypercare.
• Lead system knowledge management, as well as team resourcing, performance management, and capacity management (e.g., hiring, onboarding/bootcamps, career development, KPI monitoring).
• Ensure data domain quality and reliability, including uptime for automation jobs and data pipelines.
• Enforce data security practices across pipelines.
• Manage data and report migration activities as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
• 5+ years maintaining data warehouses and performing large-scale data transformation using EMR, Hadoop, Hive, or comparable big data technologies
• Experience mentoring and managing data engineers
• Experience with hardware provisioning, capacity forecasting, and budget management
• Proven ability to communicate outcomes in writing and to engage effectively with both business and technical audiences
• Track record of leading, managing, and hiring strong engineering talent
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Scala, or Java)
