Job summary

CSI Interfusion is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join our world-class AI collaboration. You will be hands-on with our ASR data pipeline and contribute to data processing, quality validation, and model performance.

Ideal candidates are CS/EE/data science students from a top university, proficient in Python, and able to commit at least 6 months. Exposure to speech or NLP is a plus, as is cross-regional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Master’s student from a top-tier university (Top 10 preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.
• Strong Python fundamentals, with the ability to write, debug, and improve data-processing scripts.
• Exposure to Speech, ASR, or NLP through coursework or hands-on projects.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, preprocess, and quality-validate large-scale speech and text datasets that directly influence ASR model performance.
• Design and execute data transformations including text normalization, data chunking, format conversion, and structured analysis.
• Optimize audio pipelines through segmentation, merging, transcoding, and subtitle/caption quality assurance.
• Strengthen data pipelines by improving robustness, traceability, and reproducibility through clean logs and documentation.
• Proactively identify data quality risks, triage issues at scale, and close the feedback loop with clarity and ownership.
