Job summary

RED Engineering is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to design and optimize power distribution for data centres. You will run simulations, support design teams, review equipment selections, and ensure reliability and efficiency of power networks.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering, with experience in ETAP (preferred), DigSilent or SKM, and knowledge of LV/MV systems, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonics, and transient stability studies.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering (BEng/MEng).
• Proven power systems experience, preferably in data centres.
• Experience with ETAP, DigSilent or SKM.
• Familiarity with LV/MV systems up to 132 kV.
• Knowledge of protection coordination and harmonic studies.

Responsibilities

• Run load flow analyses to optimize data centre power distribution.
• Prepare and review simulation reports and design recommendations.
• Coordinate with design teams and review equipment selections.
• Contribute to transient stability studies and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of simulation methodologies.
