Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) invites applications for a ID-LB Cabling Infrastructure Tech in the Philippines. You will support data center cabling installation, testing, labeling, and equipment troubleshooting in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

You will work with copper and fiber cabling, test gear, and inventory management, travel within the area, and adhere to SOPs. A technical diploma and 1–2 years of field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Graduation in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years of project management experience or operations planning experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting.
• 1-2 years’ experience with network cabling (fiber optic & copper).
• English language communication ability.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills and the ability to follow direction.
• Able to work at heights or use ladders for continued periods.
• Have strong attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
• Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
• Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
• Understanding test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL, Fluke, network analyser, copper / fiber cabling test equipment)
• Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Managing inventory of related materials by checking and coordinating all materials to be delivered to site daily
• Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
• Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
• Experience with a ticketing system
• Ability to travel within geographical work area is required. Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors]
