Job summary

Metrobank is seeking a Credit Portfolio Manager in the Philippines to lead credit risk management across the portfolio, coordinating with Lending Units and various divisions. You will supervise loan proposals, ensure renewals and evaluations are timely, and uphold bank policies.

The role requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with deep knowledge of credit risk systems and regulatory requirements. Location is Binondo/Caloocan, on-site at the bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field.
• At least 5 years of credit experience, preferably in commercial and corporate lending.
• Strong knowledge of credit analysis, risk assessment, portfolio monitoring and credit risk rating systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal credit policies.
• Proven people management or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and reviews the analysis and evaluation of loan proposals from Lending Units using credit tools to determine credit worthiness.
• Ensures quality and timely completion of account renewals and evaluations of borrowers.
• Assess credit risk ratings and classifications and comply with bank policies.
• Coordinate with Lending Units and other divisions to secure approvals and proper documentation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and escalate issues; support audit-related exercises.

Job Summary

The Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective operation and implementation of management measures, while maintaining strong credit risk management across the portfolio. The scope of work includes accounts coming from Lending Units and Branches.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Credit Assessment and Proposal Review

• Supervises and reviews the analysis and evaluation of loan proposals from Lending Units using various credit tools, information, and documents to ensure appropriate and holistic assessment of credit risks and mitigants in determining the credit worthiness of existing and prospective borrowers.
• Guarantees quality and timely completion of account renewals, evaluation of prospective borrowers and various credit requests and reports.

Risk Evaluation and Credit Structuring

• Appropriately assess credit risk ratings and classifications and demonstrates strict compliance to documentation and Bank policies.

Coordination and Documentation

• Coordinates with Lending Units to effectively monitor account status and performance
• Partners with Credit Administration Department, Credit Control and Documentation Division, Credit Investigation and Appraisal Division, Legal (or with other relevant units) to ensure that proposals have the appropriate approvals, loan documentation process is in order and collateral/policy deviations are mitigated.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Maintain records of work metrics and ensure timely completion of reviews.
• Performs effective portfolio management, recognizes potential issues that requires immediate attention or escalation and initiates remedial management efforts for non-performing loans of accounts showing signs of weakness
• Handles any and all audit-related exercises in coordination with other business units (IBS, Credit Risk, Compliance)

Talent Development

• Ensures effective performance management of the team against set KRAs
• Coordinates with Human Resource partners to ensure adequate talent is available and honed with well-thought-out career development programs

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Bank.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

At least5 years of credit experience, preferably in commercial and corporate lending.

Strong knowledge ofcredit analysis, risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, and credit risk rating systems.

Familiarity withregulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal credit policies.

Provenpeople management or supervisory experience preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.High level of integrity, professionalism, and work ethic.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
