Job summary

FSD Manila is seeking a General Accountant to join the Support Unit, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor. You will coordinate with head office, field offices, HR, procurement, payments, and Risk Fund to ensure accurate financial records and donor compliance.

The role emphasizes timely financial reporting, budget vs actual analysis, and maintaining robust internal controls in a fast-paced, results-driven environment in Metro Manila, Makati. A CPA or CPA-qualifying candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA qualification preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• High English proficiency.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions in the computerized accounting system.
• Generate account balances and perform analysis of transaction details.
• Process payments, maintain proper filing, and archive supporting documents.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for submission to the head office.
• Consolidate and review monthly financial reports from field offices, including budget vs. actual expenses, ensuring timely submission to meet donor deadlines.
• Assist in the preparation and review of budgets for proposal submissions.
• Prepare and review financial forecasts as required.
• Participate in internal audits, external audits, and expenditure verifications for projects; assist in addressing and resolving audit findings.
• Ensure that internal controls are effectively implemented across all areas of financial management.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to the organization’s evolving needs.
