Job summary

DFA-MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE in the Philippines seeks a Chief Accountant to oversee accounting operations, ensure timely financial reporting, and help shape the company’s accounting strategy.

The role leads a team of accountants and finance professionals, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS, budgeting, auditing and financial analysis while supporting the Board and General Assembly with financial insights.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Experience in financial reporting, auditing, budgeting, tax compliance and financial analysis.
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP or IFRS), and relevant laws & regulations.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Progressive experience in accounting roles, including supervisory or managerial is preferred.
• Experience in a cooperative is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install an adequate and effective accounting system within the Cooperative.
• Render reports on the financial condition and operations of the Cooperative monthly, annually, or as may be required by the Board of Directors and/or the General Assembly.
• Provide assistance to the Board of Directors in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Keep, maintain and preserve all books of accounts, documents, vouchers, contracts and other records concerning the business of the Cooperative and make them available for auditing purposes to the Chairperson of the Audit Committee.
• Perform other duties as the Board of Directors may require from time to time.
