Job summary

ADM Asia-Pacific Trading Pte. Ltd. seeks a Commodity Buyer based in the Philippines to support procurement and risk strategies, optimize raw material inventories, and participate in local trading for price discovery.

The role reports to APAC leadership and dotted-line to the Philippines Procurement Director. The ideal candidate will have global/local animal feed material knowledge, willingness to travel, and strong communication skills to collaborate with formulation and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Philippines procurement and risk coverage strategy.
• Optimize raw material inventory in the Philippines to manage COGS.
• Perform weekly mark to market on raw material positions.
• Ensure timely update of raw material position and cost position.
• Co-lead reconciliation of actual vs forecasted raw material consumption and quantify cost impact.
• Support import logistics cost optimization for Animal Nutrition operations in the Philippines.
• Participate in local trading markets for price discovery of raw materials.
• Coordinate with Formulation to update COGS & raw material consumption forecast.
• Train local execution team in international trading norms and contractual rights.

Your Responsibilities:

The Commodity Buyer will be based in Philippines, reporting to APAC Commodity Purchasing Director. He / She will also have a dotted line reporting to the Procurement Director in the Philippines.

• Support Philippines' procurement and risk coverage strategy.
• Optimize raw material inventory in the Philippines through active repositioning of raw material with the aim of managing Animal Nutrition's Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) position.
• Risk Management:
• a. Perform weekly mark to market on raw material positions.
• b. Ensure timely update of raw material position and cost position.
• c. Co-lead reconciliation of actual vs forecasted raw material consumption and quantify cost impact on raw material pipeline.
• Support import logistics cost optimization program for Animal Nutrition operations in the Philippines.
• Active participation in the local trading markets as part of market price and alternative raw material discovery process.
• Support Country Procurement Director on coordination with Formulation department to ensure timely update of COGS & raw material consumption forecast.
• Train local execution team in international trading norms, contractual rights & obligations.

• Possess global, local animal feed raw material supply and demand knowledge.
• Willing to travel extensively within the Philippines.
• Strong communicator:
• a. To communicate the impact of active raw material positioning on business.
• b. To communicate regularly price trend of raw material to commercial colleagues and country manager to enable timely adjustment on feed pricing strategy.
• Team Player:
• a. To be a strong support for Philippines Procurement Director, and the local procurement team members.
• b. To share best practices and knowledge of international trading norms with local procurement team.
