To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and supporting the operations of AWS owned data centres and colocation facilities. The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) understands, evaluates, defines and manages the expectations of construction quality in accordance with engineering designs to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in construction and commissioning of systems such as medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), testing and balancing, pumps and hydronic systems.

The CxE provides multidisciplinary input into the scheduling, test script development, design, and planning of projects. The CxE reviews component submittal packages, leads Factory Witness Testing (FWT), performs system level and integrated system testing, audits activities for environmental, quality, and safety compliance, provides comprehensive weekly reporting of all ongoing projects, and drives continuous improvement of program quality. This position covers multiple inflight projects.

About the Team

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensures customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization, composed of electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural engineers, project managers, operators, and other specialists focused on detailed engineering and operational review, testing of equipment designs, functionality, and construction practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience in commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
