O International (Coffee Plantation) is part of Lao Asean Leasing Public Company (LALCO), one of the largest privately owned conglomerates in Laos with interests in finance, agriculture, natural resources and real estate.

Position Title: Coffee Business Manager
Job Purpose

As the ultimate leader of our coffee operations the Coffee Business Manager will take full responsibility for all aspects of the business — from sourcing, trading and processing to quality control, sales, team management, certifications and export readiness. This is a senior leadership position with full accountability for driving business growth, profitability and sustainable success. The Coffee Business Manager will oversee the entire operation, set the strategic direction, allocate resources and lead the team toward achieving both short-term and long-term goals. The Agronomist Manager will report to this role and provide technical expertise for cultivation and processing.

Key Responsibilities
Full Operational Leadership & Strategic Direction
  • Develop and implement strategies for production, trading, processing, sales and export.
  • Define and execute short-term and long-term plans.
  • Allocate resources, assign tasks and manage budgets to achieve targets.
  • Provide leadership across all functions: cultivation, processing, quality control, logistics and sales.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team, setting clear expectations and goals.
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative culture aligned with company values.
  • Mentor and develop staff to build internal capacity and expertise.
Business Development & Market Growth
  • Drive business expansion across local and international markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with buyers, roasters, distributors and industry partners.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, cupping events and industry forums.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure product quality meets export standards and customer expectations.
  • Oversee compliance with certifications (e.g. Fair Trade, Organic, Rainforest Alliance).
  • Coordinate with the Agronomist Manager on technical aspects of certifications and sustainable practices.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts and financial performance, keep clear records using the company’s operational software and report to management periodically.
  • Optimize pricing, costs and margins to maximize profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
Sustainability & Innovation
  • Champion sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the Agronomist Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of senior leadership experience in the coffee or specialty agriculture sector.
  • Proven track record of managing full operations and achieving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of the coffee value chain from farm to export.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of local or regional languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in rural areas and travel between farm sites and markets.
