Job description

The Cloud (Middleware) Engineer will provide day to day support to all business units using company’s Azure public cloud platform including but not limited to incident-, change-, request- and problem management. This role focuses on leveraging azure services administration tasks and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

• Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent, Individual Contributor
• Location: PhilamLife Gammon Building, 126 LP Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
• Work Schedule: Day Shift, 9AM to 6PM
• Work Set-up: Currently in a 60% (2-3 days/week) onsite setting with possibility to progress to 100% setting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance which are more demanding and complex.
• Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
• Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
• Work as part of 24/7 shift roster to implement changes and requests and resolve incidents.
• Provide training and support to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• At least 3+ years relevant experience in Middleware Engineering / Support role
• Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multi-site enterprise environment
• Relevant professional certifications (Azure, AWS, ITIL etc)
• Practical experience of supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation
• Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit.
• understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
• Experience in top tier multinational corporation will be an advantage.
• Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) for service follow-up and incident management.

Comprehensive skills in one of following areas:

• Middleware: IIS / Websphere / Apache / Tomcat
• Databases: Azure SQL Database / Oracle database / SQL Server
• Scripting and containers: Powershell, Azure cmd line, YAML, Containers / AKS, etc.
