About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil BIM Technician with advanced expertise in Autodesk Revit to join our engineering team. In this role, you will focus heavily on the 3D modeling of drainage sewers, roads, and utilities. You will be responsible for building custom Revit families for utility components, modelling complex underground and surface infrastructure, and generating precise 2D construction drawings directly from your 3D models.

Key responsibilities

• 3D Infrastructure Modelling: Utilize Autodesk Revit to create detailed, accurate 3D models of civil infrastructure, including gravity drainage sewers, highways/roads, and diverse utility networks

• Revit Family Creation: Design, build, and maintain custom, parametric Revit families specifically for utility components, equipment, and structures

• Utility Coordination: Model wet and dry utilities, ensuring proper depth, alignment, and accurate spatial representation within the overall project model

• 2D Drafting & Documentation: Extract, set up, and produce high-quality 2D engineering drawings, plans, sections, and details directly from the 3D BIM model for construction documentation

• Clash Detection & Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers and project managers to identify, log, and resolve spatial conflicts or design clashes between utilities, structural elements and surfaces

• Standards Compliance: Adhere to company and client BIM/CAD standards, ensuring models and drawing sheets are cleanly organized and properly managed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Software Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Revit is mandatory, with a proven track record of using it for civil infrastructure rather than just vertical building structures

• Civil Elements Modelling: Direct experience modeling roads, drainage networks (storm/foul sewers), and utility corridors in a 3D environment

• Advanced Revit Capabilities: Strong proficiency in creating parametric Revit families from scratch and managing complex component libraries

• Drawing Generation: Deep understanding of Revit sheet setups, view templates, visibility graphics, and annotations to convert 3D data into clean, compliant 2D deliverables

• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, utility constructability, and gravity flow concepts

• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot design inconsistencies and ensure high accuracy in data-rich models

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, BIM, or a related field (preferred)

• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, understanding of Revit-Civil 3D interoperability workflows (preferred)

• 5 years of experience in a civil engineering, infrastructure or construction drafting role (preferred)
