Responsibilities

• Ensures that all Engine personnel are properly familiarized with their specific duties.
• Supervises the training and development of subordinate personnel under his direction.
• Responsible for the condition of personnel and for ensuring that anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not allowed into work areas and is immediately reported to the Master.
• Responsible for proper implementation of Environmental Protection and Living & Working Safety procedures.
• Organizes engine personnel for the operation and maintenance of machinery and systems.
• Ensures vessel inspection tasks, either performed by him or his subordinates, are carried out properly and timely.
