Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) to join our Boston-area clinics. You will work in a state-of-the-art facility with strong doctor:nurse staffing ratios and a 24/7 telehealth team.

We value fear-free care, AAHA standards, and a collaborative culture. Weekend availability, compassion for pets, and excellent communication with clients are essential. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
  • Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
  • Comfortable with computers and online tools.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs safely.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and recognize emergencies.
  • Record vitals and assist doctors with diagnostics.
  • Administer and prepare medications as instructed.
  • Place catheters and draw blood.
  • Assist in radiography and in-house labs.
  • Provide compassionate care and maintain a hospitable environment.

What you’ll do
  • Triaging
  • Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
  • Assessing patients
  • Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
  • Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
  • Basic husbandry and nursing care
  • Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
  • Taking blood
  • Placing catheters
  • Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
  • Preparing samples for outside reference labs
  • Running in-house labs
  • Preparing medications
  • Administering medications
  • Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment
Who you are
  • 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting
