Qualifications

• Certified AAPC/AHIMA medical coder.
• Strong knowledge/experience with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM.
• Knowledge/experience in outpatient medical coding.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and quality-driven.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient medical records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II codes.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.
• Abstract and input coded data into EHR and billing systems.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department.
• Stay current with updates to coding regulations and reimbursement changes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
