Job Description
A cashier is responsible for handling transactions at a retail store, supermarket, or other establishments. Their duties typically include:
- Processing Transactions: Scanning items, totaling purchases, and accepting payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payment systems.
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions about products, and resolving issues with transactions or returns.
- Bagging Items: Packing purchased items carefully to ensure they’re safe for transport.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is often preferred, but not always required.
- Experience: Previous experience in retail or customer service can be helpful but is not always necessary, as on-the-job training is often provided.
