About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cafe Manager to join our team at Super Matcha Philippines. The Cafe Manager is responsible for:
- Ensuring beverage quality and consistency
- Supervising and mentoring baristas
- Maintaining store standards
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience
As a leader behind the bar, you will train staff in both beverage preparation and hospitality standards, oversee daily operations, and act as a brand ambassador for Super Matcha.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality matcha beverages and other menu items according to Super Matcha standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across all drinks
- Lead training programs on service excellence, guest interaction, and hospitality practices
- Mentor, coach, and supervise baristas to uphold operational efficiency and customer service standards
- Oversee bar operations, including scheduling, workflow, and performance monitoring
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies; coordinate with suppliers for replenishment
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of bar counters, utensils, equipment, and work areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and mall/brand regulations
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner
- Support promotional activities, product launches, and seasonal campaigns
- Prepare daily beverage sales and wastage reports for submission to management
Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate, TESDA certification, or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or related field preferred
- Experience: At least 2–3 years of barista experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or head barista role, ideally in a café or specialty coffee/tea shop
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, equipment handling, and coffee/tea brewing methods
- Proven ability to train staff in both technical skills and guest service/hospitality
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Strong customer service orientation and a people-first mindset
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Awards or recognition from prior barista competitions are not required but considered a strong advantage
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
