Job summary

Marc and Jenssen Industrial Corp. is seeking a CAD Operator to create accurate HVAC and mechanical drawings. You will translate concepts into detailed CAD layouts for ducting, piping, and equipment installations, and support design teams and field crews.

This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of AutoCAD, and ability to coordinate with engineers to meet project deadlines. Fresh graduates with strong CAD skills are welcome; on-site work with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• Must have CAD proficiency and experience producing HVAC/mechanical drawings.
• Familiar with HVAC systems, ducting, piping, and equipment layouts.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, local codes).
• Able to maintain organized drawing files and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Draft detailed CAD drawings for HVAC systems including ducting layouts, piping, equipment installation and schematics.
• Convert design concepts into technical drawings and revise based on feedback from engineers and clients.
• Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, and installers to align drawings with site conditions.
• Support in quantity take-offs, material estimation, and project documentation.

Job Summary

The CAD Operator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed technical drawings for HVAC, ventilation, and related mechanical systems. This role supports design, project execution, and coordination with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure all drawings are compliant with project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Design Support

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for HVAC systems including ducting layouts, piping, equipment installation, and schematics
• Convert design concepts, sketches, and calculations into technical drawings
• Revise drawings based on engineer and client feedback

2. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, and installers to ensure drawings align with site conditions
• Assist in the preparation of shop drawings, as-built drawings, and installation details
• Ensure drawings meet project timelines and deliverables

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation (soft and hard copies)
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and company practices (ASHRAE, local codes, etc.)
• Support permit and submission requirements when needed

4. Technical Support

• Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation based on drawings
• Provide drawing support during project execution and troubleshooting

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related course
• Vocational or technical diploma in CAD is acceptable

Experience

• At least 1-3 years of experience as a CAD Operator (HVAC/mechanical works preferred)
• Fresh graduates with strong CAD skills may be considered

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD (required)
• Knowledge in Revit / BIM is an advantage
