The first Sinag Pawnshop business was established on May 1986 by its' Founder, Jose Avelino Salazar, at Marilao, Bulacan which is now also its Head Office.

The name "Sinag", originally a Tagalog word, was given by his mother, Mrs. Azucena Salazar, which came from the "midpoint part of a trunk of tree". Its' other namesake, "Sinag", meaning "the rays of the sun" is also added. Contrast this to what the symbol and logo looks like. A small "P" enshrined in the big "S" with the seven (7) rays of the sun.

For several years now, Sinag Pawnshop Corp. has been in the forefront of providing financial solutions through various business processes and avenues in order to serve the myriad needs of the Filipino people.

From its’ humble beginnings, this motley crew of people from a little storefront pawnshop has grown to more than twenty (20) outlets and more than a hundred staff. Where to, now?

Fast forward to 2014 –

Sinag Pawnshop continues to reach new frontiers, building new businesses. Now with over seventy (70) outlets, more than three hundred (300) employees and forging new and bigger partnerships and alliances.

Sinag Pawnshop pioneered many “firsts” in the pawnshop industry. It was the first to offer 3% promo interest” on pawned items.

It has come a long way now from its’ inception and continues to shine as a beacon of hope and cheers similar to the new sun rising in the morning!
